September Welcome back!!
Hello Salmon Arm West families!
I trust you are all enjoying your summer season and are slowly preparing yourselves for back-to-school next week. Staff have been busy in the school preparing their classrooms and we are very much looking forward to seeing our students’ faces, how much they have grown and hearing about their summer stories 😊
A reminder to Gr 1-5 families that students return on Wednesday, September 4th for an early dismissal day of 8:20-11:20am. Busses will run as usual. Please send your child with a snack (no lunch needed for this shortened day), indoor shoes and a water bottle.
Kindie students begin Thursday, Sept 5th and will attend for their 1 hour assigned group session with a grown up. All K families should have received an email with our gradual entry schedule. Please be sure to check your email for the schedule and welcome letter from Ms Peebles 🙂
All Gr 1-5 students will return to their last year’s classroom for a welcome back on the first day. Once we have had the chance to account for all students, and we have been given permission from the School District to move students to their new classes for the 2024/2025 school year, we will walk students to their new classes as a staff (we have a special process for this – it’s quite lovely!). We anticipate emailing families with their classroom placement as early as Thursday, but we ask for your patience as it could be on Friday, depending on our numbers. For Gr 1-5 students, Regular days resume Thursday, Sept 5th with our former 8:20-2:16pm bell schedule.
