Thank you to the community members, family members, and District staff for joining with us this morning at Salmon Arm West. Our staff and students took part in a very special and memorable Orange Shirt Day assembly, outside at the Shannon Sharpe Learning Circle. Teachers have been spending time with their students engaging in age-appropriate discussions around what Orange shirt day means, and what our roles can be as individuals and as a community towards Truth and Reconciliation. A reminder that tomorrow, Friday September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and that classes are not in sessions. We hope all of our families have an opportunity to reflect and learn a few new things from their child(ren).
